Pierre Soulard is in charge of the urban mobility department, within the road department of Lyon Métropole, the local authority. With an initial training in urban engineering from the École des Ingénieurs de la Ville de Paris, he previously worked as an operations manager on infrastructure projects in various local authorities, as well as being in charge of a territorial road subdivision.
He is a mobility referent within the Smart City approach of Lyon Métropole. While the Urban Mobility department manages traffic, (1600 traffic lights, 1 CRITER supervision PC), its scope of activity also includes the implementation of policies in favor of active modes: management of the Bicycle Service, development of carpooling services, supervision of car-sharing services, support for the deployment of electromobility, management of accessibility themes, travel safety and staking. It is also developing new mobility management tools: multimodal information (Onlymoov), interoperable ticketing (Urban Pass) and mobility consulting. Generally speaking, thanks to its expertise and transversal vision of urban mobility, the Urban Mobility Department supports all planners in the design of their public space projects.
