Ped-elec

Ped-elec is an innovative new approach to urban mobility being researched at the National Transport Design Center and Coventry University.

Space and energy efficient, Ped-elec is a lightweight pedal-electric hybrid velomobile, operating in a ‘dockless’ shared usage system. Utilising the emergence of MaaS (mobility as a service) to provide a comfortable, accessible and clean mobility alternative that is designed for our evolving urban transport infrastructure.
Ped-elec's low emissions, energy consumption and small vehicle footprint can provide an answer to questions about the future of transport in our urban areas. Engaging in tacking issues such as rising global temperatures, increasing urbanisation and concerns regarding the sourcing and increasing strain on renewable energy.

Spark EV Technology

Range and time anxiety are key factors holding back drivers and businesses from buying EVs. By delivering more accurate range predictions, based on actual driving style, topography and current atmospheric conditions, Spark’s proprietary range prediction technology overcomes these fears and increases driver trust that they will be able to get to their destination without needing to recharge. This helps automotive manufacturers increase EV adoption and turns trials into purchases.

Spark calculates the energy needed for a journey more accurately than existing in-car solutions, consistently out-performing them in real-world trials. As Spark’s AI algorithms learn with every journey, it continually improves the accuracy of personalised journey predictions.
Designed to be embedded within satnav or in-car entertainment systems, Spark’s technology has been developed in Cambridge, UK. The company has successfully completed multiple paid Proof of Concepts with tier 1 mobility companies, as well as being selected for the BP/RocketSpace Mobility Tech Innovation Collaborative programme, the Wayra UK/Transport Systems Catapult Intelligent Mobility Accelerator and the Creative Destruction Lab programme.
