Région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

Booth E39

With 7.9 million inhabitants out of 69,711 km², 244 billion euros of GDP, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes is the 2nd largest region in France. To improve the air quality of its territory, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region wants to capitalize on a major asset: the excellence of its hydrogen sector. It aims to become a true model in terms of sustainable development and energy transition, and become the first Hydrogen region in Europe. The region benefits from an exceptional concentration of players in the hydrogen sector, which combines large groups, SMEs, start-ups, research and development laboratories, clusters, competitiveness clusters, and local authorities. Thanks to all these resources, the Region wishes to accelerate the deployment of this energy vector, thanks to mobility. In 2017, as part of the European Blending Call, it is a partnership with two industrial majors in the mobility and energy sectors: Michelin and ENGIE. Together, they present a major project on the deployment of zero emission mobility in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. ZEV has a project of more than € 50 million, including € 10.1 million from Europe for 20 charging stations, 15 electrolyzers to produce hydrogen and assistance for the acquisition of 1,000 vehicles.
