Just after his military service, Stéphane Chambon began his career in July 1992 as business developer for the network of service stations for Total in France. In 1997 he joined the Fuel Division (including the Fuel Cards activities) as controller.

During the 1st merger with Fina in 1999, Stéphane Chambon joined the Lubricant Division in the South-West part of France as Regional Manager for the B2B segment where he had to manage locally on the field the 2nd merger with Elf in 2000. In 2002, he joined Lubmarine, the worldwide marine lubricant business unit, as zone manager for Europe. Then, in 2005 he contributed to the creation of the Strategic Customer approach of the Marketing & Services branch.

In 2008, he joined the Gas & New Energies branch of the group, working for Total Energie Gaz as Marketing & Communication Director where he became Sales Director in 2011.

In 2015, he came back to the Marketing & Services branch in the Strategy, Marketing and Research Division as Professional Markets & Services Director. He’s appointed General Manager Sustainable Mobility and Transport in 2017.
