Promoting sustainable mobility:
Providing innovative solutions – technologies, software and services – and supporting our partners to bring new products to market.
To address the challenges of new mobility usages and needs and urgent climate and environmental issues, the IFPEN Transport Energie Carnot Institute explores technological avenues relating to electrified mobility, connected mobility and mobility with a low environmental impact:
• hybrid and electric powertrains: development of electric machine technologies for traction and turbomachines including power electronics and control, electricity generation and storage systems, thermal energy recovery systems
• development of services and applications for connected vehicles dedicated to energy analysis, eco-driving, pollutant emission monitoring, associated with air quality, and driving analysis in terms of safety
• improvements in the energy efficiency of IC engines and the pollution control thereof, in addition to the optimization of fuel use, particularly low-carbon fuels
The IFPEN TE Carnot Institute focuses primarily on land transport, along with industrial applications (off-road, agricultural vehicles) and heavy-duty vehicles, but also on aviation and maritime transport.
